東京を拠点として活動しているアーティスト、イラストレーター。美術大学卒業後、グラフィックデザイナーとして10年程活動した後に、2020年よりChariとしての活動を開始。
キャラクターを軸として、自身の思いや日々の考えを投影した作品を制作している。国内外での個展やグループ展、アートフェアなどで作品を発表している。また、書籍やテレビ番組、動画作品などのイラストレーションも手がけている。
近年は、主人公の白い犬Chanと、その仲間たちが住む世界を題材に作品を制作している。そこは、動物やモンスター、人などの多種多様な生き物が共存する、温かい世界である。
主人公のChanは、自身の愛犬がモデルとなっており、”希望”と”生命”の象徴であり、”永遠”という自身の思いも込めて描いている。命ある全てのものはいつかは亡くなってしまう、そんな儚い存在である自身の愛犬を、永遠にしたいという思いから誕生したキャラクターがChanである。
作品の特徴はフラットな塗りと色使いで、原色を多用したカラフルな配色に、グレーやくすんだ色の面積を多めに取り入れることで、ニュートラルな印象になるようにコントロールしている。モチーフに選ぶものは単純で根源的なものが多く、国や性別、年代や時代を問わず伝わるものを目指している。
